The Double row self-aligning ball bearings come with a sphere raceway in the outer ring and a double raceway in the inner ring. This feature endows the bearings a self-aligning property, permitting an angular misaligning of the shaft relative to the housing. Such bearings are suitable for applications where misalignment arises due to errors in mounting or from shaft deflection. These self-aligning ball bearings are commonly used for carrying radial loads and light axial loads, but they are not suitable to carry pure axial loads.
